URAP Field Rankings Find New Areas of Excellence

University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) is published by the Informatics Institute of Middle East Technical University, Ankara. The World Rankings now include 3000 plus universities ranked by six indicators derived from InCites: Articles, Citations, Total Documents, Total Article Impact, Total Citation Impact, and International Collaboration. It is a research-based global ranking.

The recently published Field Rankings use these indicators to measure universities across a broad variety of fields in the arts and humanities and the social and natural sciences.

This year’s ranking shows that China continues to lead engineering and technology fields. Tsinghua University is top of the table for Artificial Intelligence, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Nanosciences and Robotics.

British and American universities continue to dominate the social sciences, medicine, and life sciences. Other interesting results include the strong performance of French institutions in Physical Sciences, where Université Paris-Saclay is first and Université Sorbonne second, and Mathematical Sciences, where Saclay is first and Sorbonne third.

In Zoology Latin America does extremely well. Universidade de Sāo Paulo (USP), Brazil was first, the National Autonomous University of Mexico fifth, and Universidade Estadual Paulista sixth. USP was also the world leader for Veterinary Science.
