At a congenial ceremony during the recent IREG 2020 Beijing Conference, Luis Costa, IREG President announced that Isidro Aguillo had been awarded the IREG Honorary Member Award. Speaking on behalf of the IREG Executive Committee, Waldemar Siwinski, IREG Vice President called Aguillo “the most farsighted visionary among rankers” and explained: “Isidro understood, years earlier than others, how important the Internet imprint of a university, is for its international visibility and reputation.”

Isidro Aguillo is the Head of the Cybermetrics Lab at the Spanish National Research Council. He is the founder of the electronic journal “Cybermetrics”, and the editor of the Webometrics Rankings.
