The World’s Top Entrepreneurial Universities

PitchBook is a financial research platform specializing in private venture capital. It publishes rankings based on the number of university graduates who have raised venture capital. 

The latest edition is dominated by the United States, especially by institutions in California. Canadian, British, Irish, and Israeli universities also do very well.

The top three universities in each of the various categories are:

Undergraduate

  1. University of California Berkeley
  2. Stanford University
  3. Harvard University

Graduate

  1. Stanford University
  2. Harvard University
  3. Massachusetts Institute of Technology

MBA

  1. Harvard University
  2. Stanford University
  3. University of Pennsylvania

Europe

  1. University of Oxford
  2. University of Cambridge
  3. Trinity College Dublin

Female Founders

  1. University of California Berkeley
  2. Stanford University
  3. Harvard University.

According to these rankings, entrepreneurial talent is confined to a few regions of the world, North America, Western Europe, India, and East Asia. There are no universities from Latin America, Africa, Central Asia, Russia or the Middle East outside Israel.
