Nature Index is a ranking based on primary research articles in 145 highly reputed journals in the medical and natural sciences.
Last November, it published a supplement about the rising stars of the international research world. It is clear that China is by far the fastest-rising country as far as publications in Nature Index are concerned. Some other countries, however, have also improved very rapidly over the last few years.
The list of rising countries is headed by China, which is followed by India, Poland, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam, Iran, South Africa, and Luxembourg.
The list of the top 200 institutions is dominated by China with the Chinese Academy of Sciences in first place, followed by the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University, the University of Science and Technology of China, and the Southern University of Science and Technology.
