ASEAN Plus Private University Ranking Published

AppliedHE is the work of a team of higher education professionals dedicated to producing tools and solutions to help students and other stakeholders make informed decisions about tertiary education.

Last year AppliedHE published a ranking of private universities in six Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. This has now become the ASEAN Plus ranking including universities in Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, and Taiwan.

The methodology is based on six indicators: Teaching and Learning (40% weighting), Employability (15%), Research (15%), Community Engagement (10%), Internationalization (10%), and International Reputation (10%).

The top five universities in this year’s ranking are:

  1. Bina Nusantara University, Indonesia
  2. Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
  3. Universitas Tarumanagara, Indonesia
  4. Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia
  5. University of Santo Tomas, Philippines.

The top universities in the various sub-rankings are:

Teaching and Learning; Western Caspian University, Azerbaijan

Graduate Employability; Hang Seng University of Hong Kong

Research; Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia

Community Engagement; International University of Business Agriculture and Technology, Bangladesh

Internationalization; Krirk University, Thailand

Peer Reputation; Bina Nusantara University.
