Emerging is a French consulting company specializing in graduate employability. It has published global university employability rankings since 2010. These were published in the International Herald Tribune, the New York Times, and more recently Times Higher Education.
In addition, it publishes rankings of global digital leaders, including data science, digital transformation management, computer science and digital entrepreneurship.
GEURS (Global Employability Universities Ranking and Survey is based on a survey of employers supervising at least five graduates per year and with at least five years’ experience. Respondents nominated between ten and twenty institutions from a curated list. This year there were 12,350 respondents casting 119,567 votes.
The top of these rankings is very familiar. The world top five are:
1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA
2. Stanford University, USA
3. California Institute of Technology, USA
4. University of Cambridge, UK
5. University of Oxford, UK.
There is only one Central European university in these rankings, Charles University of Prague, and only two from Sub Saharan Africa, the University of Cape Town, and Stellenbosch University.
The top university in each region is:
