The AI revolution is working its way through many aspects of research and academic life, and it will certainly have an impact on rankings, whether national, regional or global. Recently two AI assisted national rankings have appeared from Italy and Pakistan.
The AI Reputation Index is published on the Next Leaders page of Forbes Italia, in collaboration with Cogit AI. It is based on six dimensions: “academic reputation, employability, student services, internationalization, digitalization, inclusiveness.” It includes data from two national sources, the AlmaLaurea Report on the Occupational Condition of Graduates and Censis, and The Times Higher Education (THE) and QS World University Rankings.
The first place in the overall ranking goes to Politecnico di Milano, followed by Bocconi University and Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa. The most international university is the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, which is trilingual in Italian, German, and English. Bocconi University scores highest for student satisfaction.
The most salient point of this ranking is that internationalisation is the “most powerful reputation multiplier of the last decade.”
Pakistan
Pakistan University Rankins & Landscape is produced by Athar Osama, who is described as a “Policy Researcher and Thought Leader (with ClaudeAI)”. It covers six academic domains and applies eight criteria. It uses publicly accessible data from websites, reports, profiles, and standard national and international rankings.
The main findings include public universities such as Quaid I Azam University and the National University of Science and Technology excelling in research output while private universities such as Lahore University of Management Sciences and the Institute of Business Administration do better for graduate competitiveness and industry linkages. Aga Khan University stands out as much better than any other medical institution.
The top five universities overall are:

2. Aga Khan University, Karachi
3. National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad
4. Institute of Business Administration Karachi
5. FAST-NUCES, Islamabad.
