Methodology <p>Three University Missions Moscow International University Ranking assesses higher education institutions according to the&nbsp;three traditional missions&nbsp;of universities: education, research,&nbsp;and the relation&nbsp;between the&nbsp;university and the local community,&nbsp;which&nbsp;is now getting increasingly important as a&nbsp;condition&nbsp;of&nbsp;sustained development. The ranking uses only objective criteria approved by the international experts. Reputation surveys are entirely excluded from consideration. MosIUR Ranking uses 16 indicators grouped into three areas:</p> <p><strong>Education (45%)</strong></p> <p>Number of student wins in international student contests (7%).</p> <p>Share of international students (8%).</p> <p>University budget to student ratio (15%).</p> <p>Student to academic staff ratio (15%).</p> <p><strong>Research (25%)</strong></p> <p>IREG List awards won by university academic staff and alumni (7%).</p> <p>Average normalised citation impact (global level) (10%).</p> <p>Average normalised citation impact (national level) (3%).</p> <p>Research income per academic staff member (5%).</p> <p><strong>University and Society (30%)</strong></p> <p>Number of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) (6%).</p> <p>Share of the university in total national publications (4%).</p> <p>Total pages of a university&rsquo;s website indexed by the leading search engines (3%).</p> <p>Views of the university's page on Wikipedia (1%).</p> <p>University's followers in social media (3%).</p> <p>Number of alumni with an individual article about them on Wikipedia (7%).</p> <p>University website reach (4%).</p> <p>Transparency (2%).</p>
