Methodology

The evaluation of the activity of Ukrainian universities in 2024 was carried out based on a set of 10 indicators (6 international and 4 national) and their weighting factors were determined by experts of the "Top-200 Ukraine" project with the involvement of IREG Observatory on Academic experts Ranking and Excellence: 

  • Academic activity (QS World University Rankings) – weight: 0.15
  • Scientific publishing activity (Scopus) – weight: 0.13
  • Evaluation of research achievements of universities by monitoring their Internet sites (Webometrics) – weight: 0.10
  • Assessing the impact of universities on society in four broad areas: research, outreach, governance and teaching (THE University Impact Rankings) – weight: 0.125
  • Academic activity (Times Higher Education World University Rankings) – weight: 0.15
  • Achieving sustainable development in terms of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (QS World University Rankings Sustainability) – weight: 0.125
  • Scientific work (Effectiveness of participation of higher education institutions of Ukraine in competitions of scientific Project, international and domestic) – weight: 0.055
  • Organization of educational and scientific work (Rating of Accreditation Examinations NAME 2019-2023) – weight: 0.055
  • Inventive activity (The number of patents received by university scientists) – weight: 0.055
  • Attractiveness of the university for applicants (The weighted average value for the ratings of higher education institutions by the number of applications submitted by applicants and the average competitive score) – weight: 0.055
