Methodology

The ranking considers the 50 most popular subjects among students and the five best universities where to study them, giving 250 programs ranked in total. It considers the following criteria:

TEACHER QUESTIONNAIRE (30%)

In a voluntary, anonymous and random survey, teachers assess which are the best centers to teach their degree; the strengths and weaknesses of the university; and outline the main lines of research of the departments.

DATA FROM THE UNIVERSITY (50%)

Human Resources

  • Proportion of students in relation to Teaching and Research Staff (PDI).
  • Current expenditure per enrolled student.  

 

Physical resources/Infrastructure 

  • Positions in classrooms / number of students.
  • Positions in laboratories / number of students.
  • Positions in libraries / number of students.
  • Number of copies in the libr ary.
  • Number of positions in computer rooms / number of students.
  • Internet connection type. 

 

Curriculum 

  • Number of credits and study plans (reveals the composition, structure and duration of each plan).
  • Number of practical / theoretical credit (importance of practical teaching in the study plan).
  • Optional degree offer (curricular flexibility).
  • Practical credits in companies. 
  • Teaching: Methodology and its importance, adaptation to the new parameters of the EHEA, possibility for the student to evaluate the teacher, etc.

 

Results 

  • Dropout rate.
  • Graduation rate.
  • Average duration of studiem (efficiency of an institution in relation to the number of students graduated).
  • Participation rate of faculty in research projects.
  • PhDs: evaluates the number of theses read each year in relation to the number of students enrolled in third-cycle courses.

 

Background information 

  • Number of ongoing research Project.
  • Number of languages ​​offered.
  • Study abroad programs.
  • Price per credit.
  • How has the Faculty dealt with the change to the European Higher Education Area?

 

INTERNATIONALIZATION (10%) 

  • Graduates' reputation in the international business world (the opinion of more than 100,000 employers worldwide is valued).
  • Reputation of students from Spanish centres among the global academic community.

 

OTHER INDICATORS (10%) 

Other indicators taken into account, such as results in international rankings, Aneca reports or results of reports from Spanish universities, etc.
