Methodology

The main ranking is the ranking of programs (BA, MA, PhD) by course areas. It is formed using an electronic tool for ranking of educational programs, available online, based on the results of verification of the university’s supporting documents by the following groups of indicators «High concentration of talented students, teachers and researchers», «Academic mobility», «Competitiveness of specialty graduates» available in the cloud, as well as on the basis of data analysis from database in accordance with the indicator of «Competitiveness of specialty graduates». 

HIGH CONCENTRATION OF TALENTED STUDENTS, TEACHERS AND RESEARCHERS (25%)

  • Accreditation of the HEI and educational program (3%)
  • «Altyn Belgi» and educational grants holders (4%)
  • Prizewinners of the Republican and International Olympiad in the subject (4%)
  • Graduates graduated with honors (4%)
  • Quality of full-time teachers (academic degree, laureates of state prizes of the Republic of Kazakhstan, laureates of nominal prizes of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, (10%) 

 

ACADEMIC MOBILITY (25%) 

  • A visiting teacher (professor or PhD) from a foreign country, who gave classes and took an exam in the discipline of the basic (BВ) or profile (PD) cycle of the specialty (5%)
  • A teacher (doctor of sciences, candidate of sciences or PhD) of the main department, who conducted classes at HEIs or research at research centers of far abroad (5%)
  • Students from foreign universities studying at this university for a semester (5%)
  • Students of the specialty who studied for one semester at a HEI in foreign countries (5%)
  • Joint educational programs with foreign partners – double degree education (5%) 

 

COMPETITIVENESS OF SPECIALTY GRADUATES (25%) 

  • Number of graduates of the previous period 

 

COMPETITIVENESS OF SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS OF TEACHERS, UNDERGRADUATES AND DOCTORAL STUDENTS IN THE SPECIALTY (25%) 

  • the Hirsch Index for citing publications of teachers, undergraduates and doctoral students on the ISI Web of Knowledge, Thomson Reuters database (9%)
  • Publications of teachers, undergraduates and doctoral students in the specialty according to the Hirsch Index of Scopus (9%)
  • Patents and inventions of teachers, undergraduates and doctoral students in the specialty (7%) 

 

The IAAR rating is formed based on the ranking results of education programs of Kazakhstan HEIs and includes the following types:

  • General rating of HEIs in Kazakhstan «TOP-20+»
  • Institutional ranking of HEIs by areas of specialist training
  • Rating of education programs by levels of BA, MA and PhD
  • Rating of teachers of HEIs in Kazakhstan «TOP-50».
