AD Scientific Index Ranks World’s Top Scientists

The AD scientific index is produced by Murat Alper of the Sağlık Bilimleri University Istanbul  and Cihan Döğer of the Ankara Provincial Directorate of Health. It is based on Google Scholar data and provides a variety of rankings of individuals and institutions, including research productivity, h-index, and citations. The rankings are updated every two to three months.

The university rankings appear to show the continued ascendency of British and North American universities. Harvard continues to lead among world universities, and a broad range of Ivy League and US public universities fill out the ranks of the top twenty, including the University of Michigan, the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, Columbia, and the University of Pennsylvania. One surprising result is that Universidade de São Paulo is now in second place.

Asian universities do not seem to do particularly well here. The best performer from that continent is the National University of Singapore, in 33rd place. The best Chinese university is Tsinghua, which ranks 59th.
