US business schools are facing a difficult time with growing competition from abroad and online courses and the need to adapt to changing demands of students and employers. Even so, US schools continue to dominate the world rankings of top business education programmes. The latest edition of the Economist’s ranking of full time MBA programmes is headed by the Chicago Booth School of Business followed by Harvard Business School. The ranking is dominated by the English-speaking countries and Western Europe.

Altogether the top 100 include 50 schools from the USA. There are also 17 located in the UK, six in France, four each in Canada, Germany and Spain, three in Australia, two each in Switzerland and Singapore, and one each in Italy, Monaco, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan and South Korea.

There are no African, Latin American, Middle Eastern or Eastern European schools in the top one hundred.
