Prof. Andrzej K. Kozminski, President of Kozminski University has been awarded an honorary doctorate by ESCP Europe, the oldest business school in Europe. The ceremony took place on Dec 8, 2017, at Palais des Congrès in Paris, during the graduation ceremony of the Class 2017 at ESCP Europe in the presence of many distinguished guests, including Tomasz Mlynarski, Polish ambassador to France.

Prof.  Kozminski is an economist, sociologist, and the best-known management scholar in Poland. His academic credentials are best described by the following numbers: 4681 quotations, and Hirsch index of 27. In 1993 he established Kozminski University, and served as its rector (1993-2011), and since 2011 he’s been the president of the university.

Andrzej Koźmiński obtained his Ph.D. at the age of 24, and at 27 – his habilitation degree (a senior doctorate). He interned in Italy and France at major companies and financial institutions. Upon his return to Poland, he continued research at the Main School of Commerce in Warsaw, and at the Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw. He was nominated to professorship at 35.

Professor Kozminski lectured in France: at university in Orleans and at Sorbonne. He was a Fulbright scholar at Carnegie Mellon University in 1970s, where he collaborated with Professor Herbert Simon (a winner of Nobel prize in economy), and later also worked at UCLA and George Washington University.

Research interests of Professor Kozminski include: systemic transformation in Central and Eastern Europe, theoretical studies in systems analysis, studies on leadership, and development of a socio-economic index, showing more precisely the current status of economy and socio-political conditions in a country than the popular GDP index. He is also an author of management textbooks, popular at Polish universities.
