Times Higher Education have published their European Teaching Rankings which are similar to their earlier league tables for the USA and Japan. There are four pillars, Engagement, Resources, Outcomes, and Environment.

  • Engagement incudes Student engagement, Student interaction, Student recommendation, Student career preparation and Links to labour market.
  • Resources includes Staff student ratio, Papers per staff, and Quality of services.
  • Outcomes includes Academic reputation, Graduation rate, and Skills development.
  • Environment includes Gender balance of academic staff and of students.

Eight countries – The United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and Portugal – and 240 universities are covered by the new rankings. UK universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and University College London that perform well in research-based rankings are at the top of the overall rankings and the Resources pillar. Spanish, Dutch and German universities get high scores for Engagement, Outcomes, and Environment.

The top five universities overall are:

  1. University of Oxford, UK
  2. University of Cambridge, UK
  3. Sorbonne University, France
  4. University of Warwick, UK
  5. University College London, UK.

The top five universities for Resources are:

  1. University of Cambridge, UK
  2. University of Oxford, UK
  3. Imperial College London, UK
  4. University of Edinburgh, UK
  5. University College London, UK.

The top five universities for Engagement are:

  1. Camillas Pontifical University, Spain
  2. University of Navarra, Spain
  3. Coventry University, UK
  4. University of Dundee, UK
  5. University of Cambridge, UK.

The top five universities for Outcomes are:

  1. University of Oxford, UK
  2. Imperial College London, UK
  3. Technical University Munich, Germany
  4. University College London, UK
  5. LMU Munich, Germany.

The top five universities for Environment are:

  1. Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands
  2. Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands
  3. University of Limerick, Ireland
  4. Leeds Becket University, UK
  5. Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.

7th Russian University Ranking by RAEX

The RAEX Rating Agency presented its the 7th annual ranking of the Russian results on the Global Competitiveness Forum in Moscow. The RAEX ranking is based on 45 indicators and survey results among 30,000 respondents: academics, students, alumni, and employers.

The top three universities: Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute), continue to maintain their positions for the fourth year in a row’, notes Alexey Khodyrev, Executive Director of University Rankings at the RAEX Rating Agency.

The 4th International Workshop on UI GreenMetric World University Rankings (IWGM)

UI GreenMetric World University Rankings is pleased to hold The 4th International Workshop on UI GreenMetric (IWGM) in collaboration with Universitas Diponegoro on 8-10 April 2018. The venue for the event will be in Universitas Diponegoro, Tembalang, Semarang, Indonesia.

This year’s International Workshop on UI GreenMetric will address the theme of “Universities, Impacts and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” and provide the forum to share the best practices in creating a sustainable condition in universities. The attendees will be senior officers (rectors, vice-rectors, sustainability directors, deans, directors, respectful professors) from participating universities which have shown outstanding performance in 2018 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, environment experts, student leaders and other participants The workshop is expected to offer a platform for exchanging information and cooperation in dealing with sustainability issues.

ESCP Honorary doctorate for Prof. Andrzej Kozminski

Prof. Andrzej K. Kozminski, President of Kozminski University has been awarded an honorary doctorate by ESCP Europe, the oldest business school in Europe. The ceremony took place on Dec 8, 2017, at Palais des Congrès in Paris, during the graduation ceremony of the Class 2017 at ESCP Europe in the presence of many distinguished guests, including Tomasz Mlynarski, Polish ambassador to France.

Prof. Kozminski is an economist, sociologist, and the best-known management scholar in Poland. His academic credentials are best described by the following numbers: 4681 quotations, and Hirsch index of 27. In 1993 he established Kozminski University, and served as its rector (1993-2011), and since 2011 he’s been the president of the university.
