Prof. Luiz Claudio Costa has been elected the President and Waldemar Siwinski re-elected as Vice President of the IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence.
On the new Board of IREG Observatory there are also: Mirko Degli Esposti, Bologna University (Italy), Habib M. Fardoun of King Abdulaziz University (Saudi Arabia), Dmitry Grishankov of RAEX (Russia), Birte Hornemman of Aalborg University (Denmark), Nian Cai Liu of Shanghai Ranking (China), Robert Morse of the US News & World Report (USA), and Ben Sowter of QS Ranking (United Kingdom).
Kazimierz Bilanow has been re-appointed as Managing Director of IREG Observatory.
IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence is an international association gathering ranking organizations, higher education analysts and representatives of universities. The purpose of IREG Observatory is to strengthen public awareness and understanding of university rankings and their role in reflecting quality of higher education and academic excellence.
Prof. Luiz Claudio Costa is a former Minister of Education of Brazil, former Rector of Federal University of Viçosa and former Vice President of PISA (Program for International Student Assessment).
The new management of IREG Observatory were elected during the IREG 2018 Annual Conference: Ranking and Accreditation – Two roads to the same goal? held at Hasselt University in Hasselt, Belgium 23-25 May 2018. Conferences’ participants thanked Jan Sadlak for his work as the President of IREG Observatory for the two terms.
