- We want to help young people in making best suiting them  selection of the field of study in technical disciplines, most needed  for the economy and providing good prospects of employment and earnings - says Waldemar Siwiński, President of the Perspektywy Education Foundation, the author of the Engineering Studies Ranking.

The ranking methodology, the criteria and their weights, were prepared by the Ranking Board, chaired by Prof. Michał Kleiber. On the Board are both experts in the field of higher education representatives of the industry.

The Perspektywy Engineering Studies Ranking 2018 evaluates the following fields of study: Automation and Robotics, Architecture and Urban Planning, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical and Proces Engineering, Chemical Technology, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrotechnics, Electronics and Telecommunication, Environmental Engineering, Geodesy and Cartography, Logistics, Management and Production Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mining and Geology, Power Engineering, Technical Physics and Transport.

The indicators have been grouped into six criteria:

Prestige (peer review survey of faculty staff);

Alumni position on the job market – (measured by the "Alumni’s Economic Situation" study conducted by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education);

Academic potential – (parametric evaluation of by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education),

Rights to confer academic degrees,

Degrees awarded;

Scientific Eficiency – (publications, citations, Field-Weighted Citation Impact);

Teaching- (quality the admitted students, availability of highly qualified academic staff, accreditations;

Innovation -  patents and protective rights.

In the 2018 ranking edition, four technology universities had the largest number of faculties in the top three of each 21 ranked disciplines of technical studies. These were: Warsaw University of Technology (10 faculties in 1st place, seven in– 2nd place and four in 3rd place). AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow respectively: 8-7-2, Silesian University of Technology 2-1-2 and Wroclaw University of Science and Technology 1-4-5. Other universities with faculties with great results were: the Gdańsk University of Technology, Lodz University of Technology and Poznan University of Technology. Good showing in the Ranking were also faculties of the Military University of Technology, Cracow University of Technology, West Pomeranian University of Technology, and Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

7th Russian University Ranking by RAEX

The RAEX Rating Agency presented its the 7th annual ranking of the Russian results on the Global Competitiveness Forum in Moscow. The RAEX ranking is based on 45 indicators and survey results among 30,000 respondents: academics, students, alumni, and employers.

The top three universities: Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute), continue to maintain their positions for the fourth year in a row’, notes Alexey Khodyrev, Executive Director of University Rankings at the RAEX Rating Agency.

UI GreenMetric World University Rankings is pleased to hold The 4th International Workshop on UI GreenMetric (IWGM) in collaboration with Universitas Diponegoro on 8-10 April 2018. The venue for the event will be in Universitas Diponegoro, Tembalang, Semarang, Indonesia.

ESCP Honorary doctorate for Prof. Andrzej Kozminski

Prof. Andrzej K. Kozminski, President of Kozminski University has been awarded an honorary doctorate by ESCP Europe, the oldest business school in Europe. The ceremony took place on Dec 8, 2017, at Palais des Congrès in Paris, during the graduation ceremony of the Class 2017 at ESCP Europe in the presence of many distinguished guests, including Tomasz Mlynarski, Polish ambassador to France.

Prof. Kozminski is an economist, sociologist, and the best-known management scholar in Poland. His academic credentials are best described by the following numbers: 4681 quotations, and Hirsch index of 27. In 1993 he established Kozminski University, and served as its rector (1993-2011), and since 2011 he’s been the president of the university.
