The US News & world Report has released the 2018 edition of its Best Online Programs Rankings. There are tables for Best Online Bachelor’s Programs, and several Online Graduate Programs, including MBA, Business non-MBA, Computer Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Engineering, Education and Nursing.
The methodology varies according to each discipline. For bachelor’s programs, the weighting is as follows: Student Engagement 35%, Faculty Credentials and Training 20%, Student Services and Technology 25%, and Peer Reputation 20%.
The methodology is different for the other programs. For online MBA Programs,for example, the criteria are Student Engagement (28%), Admissions Selectivity (25%), Peer Reputation (25%), Faculty Credentials and Training (11%), and Student Services and Technology (11%) while for online graduate nursing programs it is Student Engagement (30%), Faculty Credentials and Training (20%), Peer Reputation (20%), Admissions Selectivity (15%), and Student Services and Technology (15%).
The top five undergraduate online programs are:
- Ohio State University – Columbus
- Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida
- Temple University, Pennsylvania
- Arizona State University
- Utah State University.
The top graduate programs are:
Online MBA; Temple University (Fox)
Business, non-MBA; Villanova University, Pennsylvania
Computer Information Technology; University of Southern California
Criminal Justice; Sam Houston State University, Texas
Education; Clemson University, South Carolina
Engineering; Columbia University, New York
Nursing; St Xavier University, Illinois.
