The growth of branch campuses throughout the world has made their evaluation and accreditation increasingly important.
Branch campuses are particularly important in Dubai which aspires to become a hub for international education. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has just announced a new rating system, which is based on eight quality indicators: Teaching, Employability, Research, Internationalisation, Facilities, Overall Program Strength, Wellbeing, and Social Responsibility and Inclusiveness.
Seventeen out of 25 branch campuses were evaluated. Only three of them received the top grade of five stars, all of them branches of UK institutions. The full list of ratings is:
